Bird

ずっと使っている筆がある。毛先はぼさぼさで洗っても取れなくなっている固いところがあったりで不恰好だ。
いつ買ったのかも記憶にないくらいの筆。
これで描いた丸の連続は行き先がわからなくて延々と描き進めて和紙いっぱいになったまま放ったらかしにしていた。
しばらくしてそれを切り取ったら太った鳥の形になった。ただそれだけのこと。

There's a brush that I have been using for the longest time.
Its tip is bristled and misshapen from hardened paint that I just can't manage to wash out.
I don't even remember when I bought it.
When I used this brush to paint a series of circles, I had no idea where the circles would end, so I just filled up the whole paper with circles.
After a while, I cut out a form from that paper, and it was shaped like a fat bird. That's all.
